Molinaro charts the journey of amateur turned professional runner Carla Molinaro as she navigates her first year as a professional athlete, having achieved her newfound success later in life. Following on from her gold medal performance at the South Africa’s 2018 Comrades Ultra marathon, Carla’s attempts for back to back gold medals are thrown into turmoil, as she suffers a stress fracture in her foot, forcing her into rehabilitation in the lead up to the 2019 race.
