Rafa and his brother Gustavo are immigrants from El Salvador and cross the US border in pursuit of their version of the American dream. On their journey, Gustavo falls off a cliff, crippling him for life. The brothers make it to the U.S. where they live with their Tia Maria. Rafa struggles and begins to believe that his dream is unreachable now that his priority is taking care of his brother. Rafa seeks advice from his idol and singer Alvaro Torres on how he can reach success.
